Fishing off Whangaumu Bay

Jane is self-taught and paints in acrylic on canvas in a distinctive vibrant style, showing her love for New Zealand and inspired by the beauty she sees in its untouched beaches and natural environment. "I came across Jane Puckey's work and was so taken with her paintings, that I contacted her through her website. I commissioned her to do a work for me in a subject that I requested. The finished painting was all and more what I asked for and every day I take great pleasure in looking at it." Sandra - Auckland

The Stroke Foundation

The Stroke Foundation

The Stroke Foundation Northern Regions role is to support those who have had a stroke and their families. Through the sale of these Christmas cards we are delighted that more people will get to know about The Stroke Foundation and support the work of our wonderful team of Field Officers.

Our team of Field Officers contacts everyone who has had a stroke and provides them with written information and the offer of a home visit. We also have a Vocational Counsellor who helps those who have had a stroke to get back to work and a Volunteer coordinator who assists the volunteers who run our twenty Stroke Clubs which provide social rehabilitation. Over 25% of people who have a stroke are under the age of 65 and we are seeing an increase in those under 50.

Duffy Books in Homes

Duffy Books in Homes

Duffy Books in Homes provides free books, three times a year, to over 100,000 New Zealand children in low-decile schools. For every twenty seven Christmas cards purchased from The Giving Tree one child will receive all the benefits of the Duffy programme for an entire year.

Duffy Books in Homes vision is to break the cycle of booklessness in New Zealand by inspiring a love of books in Duffy children so they become adults who inspire a love of reading.

Children receive a minimum of five brand new books of their choice each year at no charge.  In addition, children can earn weekly 'Caught Being Good' book awards as well as other awards for effort and attitude.  Prominent New Zealand Role Models present the books and spread the message 'It's Cool to Read and Cool to Achieve!'

Lifewise

Lifewise

Lifewise offers highly practical services to children, families, older people and people living with disabilities as well as those who are homeless, isolated and marginalised. By purchasing Christmas cards through The Giving Tree, you will be helping to house, support and train homeless people building their independence through our new community café.

Lifewise is about changing people's lives for the better. We aim for long term solutions to social issues not quick 'band-aid' fixes. We've also replaced our old fashioned soup kitchen (which cooked and served up to 47,000 free meals a year) with a new community café which serves nutritious affordable food. The café is also a great place for training. By moving from a charity 'hand-out' approach Lifewise is trying to restore dignity and choice to homeless people and provide opportunities for them to experience a better future.

Auckland is a great city but it's not great all the time, or for all people.

Huha

Huha

HUHA Animal Sanctuary provides a safe haven for injured, neglected and abused animals and wildlife. It is a place where all animals are treated with respect and compassion, where they are promised a new life free of small cages, chains, boredom, ignorance and other forms of abuse.

The Sanctuary is constantly growing and has many animals in its care. Ideally animals are rehomed carefully back into loving families within the community or in the case of wildlife set free, but for those with medical problems, emotional issues or maybe just nowhere else suitable to go, they will become permanent residents at the sanctuary for the duration of their precious lives. These animals provide the perfect interactive learning environment for visiting groups, helping them to understand first hand why animals don't deserve to be treated as disposable. Everything you need to know about The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree's Purpose

Our purpose is to connect smaller New Zealand based charities with corporates and customers through the customising of Christmas cards.

Corporate Choice, Supporting Charity

Support the cause that best suits your organisation and be a part of an act of giving at Christmas. At $2 per card, The Giving Tree will give 50 cents per card to the charity of your choice and by printing a small message of support for your charity in your card you will also be increasing the awareness of your chosen cause to a wider audience.

So it's a circle of giving - you send your customers a card to thank them for their support, by sending a Giving Tree card, a charity that best fits your organisation gets 50 cents a card, by printing a message of support for that charity, your customers learn that you have a great social heart and the charity is now known to a whole bunch of new people that may become their supporters.  Isn't that what giving and Christmas is all about?

Card Information

Printed here in New Zealand using an environmentally friendly printing process that allows our cards to display the PEFC logo. All our cards are New Post standard size - 199 x 110mm folded and come with white DLE envelopes.
All the cards are completely blank inside. This allows plenty of room for printing your own message and logo. Feel free to mix and match your designs.  Just remember though - the mix all need to 'stand' the same way - either portrait or landscape.

The landscape cards in the range are:
-Fishing off Whangaumu
-Pohutukawa Cross
-Sunny Afternoon
-By the Seaside
-Gift Tags

And the portrait ones are:
-Mr Whippy
-Nine Trees of Christmas
-Summer Fruit Baubles
-Black and Silver Decorations
-Golden Tree

Overprinting

Overprinting charges are based on the number of colours we are printing in, not the amount of words. Once we have all this information, we will be able to send you a provisional layout and a quote.
Want to see a card 'in the flesh?' - let us know and we will send you one.

Please be aware, if your logo needs to be printed in full colour - we will require an EPS version of it.  This bit of information usually bamboozles people, but don't be.  Rule of thumb - if you have a logo on file that you can't open - this is usually it.  Send it to us and we will check otherwise your printer will have this version that we need.

Also, if you don't want to have any overprinting, that is fine.  Just let us know which card/s, how many, and we will dispatch these straight to you.

Payment

Payment needs to be made before we commence printing.  We are happy to provide bank details for electronic banking.
